Is it something in the water? Is it the fact that we are all crowded into a total of 1,545 square miles? How is it that Rhode Island drivers can not figure out something so simple as license plate registration stickers?
When a license plate is issued in Rhode Island there is an expiration sticker that is supposed to be placed in the lower right hand corner of the plate. There is even an indentation in the same shape of the sticker to indicate as to where the sticker should be placed. When the new sticker is issued, you are supposed to place the new sticker in the same location over the old (i.e; EXPIRED) sticker.
So why then do I see Rhode Island license plates that look like this one?

What is the matter with these people? Don’t the realize that they look like complete idiots driving around with all these stickers crammed in between the characters on their license plate? I realize of course we are after all talking about Rhode Island drivers – officially in FOURTH as the dumbest drivers in the country. But come on! It’s not rocket science!
So here’s my proposed solution. Anyone who proves incapable of determining where the registration stickers should be placed are simply too ignorant to be on the road. Revoke their license, issue a hefty fine, and require them to retake drivers education and test them. If they fail the test force them to retake the test until they pass with at least an 85!
