Robin update

Yesterday, I noticed that I have not seen mama robin or papa robin flying to and from the nest. I took a peek in to see if the baby robins were still there. Here’s what I saw.

Empty Nest

The last time I looked in on the chicks they were looking pretty big and had most if not all of their feathers.

Here are a few facts about the American Robin:

Breeding Interval: American Robins breed once or twice yearly.
Breeding Season: American Robins breed from April to July.
Eggs per Season: 3 to 5; average 4
Time to Hatching: 14 days (average)
Time to Fledgling: 13 days (average)
Age at sexual or reproductive maturity (female): 1 year (average)
Age at sexual or reproductive maturity (male):1 year (average)

So long little robins!
