AOL Revams Its Logo

Next month AOL will spin-off from parent company Time Warner and will re-brand themselves as “Aol.”. Huh? In my opinion, this only takes a bad brand and makes it worse.

Who were the marketing geniuses that came up with this? I am assuming this is an attempt to brand AOL as “hip”. No doubt these are the same marketeers that thought it was cool idea to distribute billions of AOL CDs

My 11-year old could have come up with a better logo using clip art. Oh wait, I think that is clip art…

A new brand identity to be adopted by AOL next month, when it is spun off from Time Warner, ditches the odd-looking triangle that has long served as the brand symbol and replaces the letters AOL with “Aol.” — complete with a period.
